Don't ask me why I use this blog. Good luck with viewing.

Dear readers,
It was almost 2 years ago that I made my last contribution to this blog. It was a complaint about the Dutch bureaucratic way of living and much more.
My Colombian wife Claudia and I visited from July to September 2012 the Netherlands and France. It was not a pleasant time for us. After returning to Colombia I sailed Boanerges from Panama to Cartagena de Indias in Colombia. There Claudia and I met again and lived for two years on Boanerges without sailing her. Claudia is a mountain person and cannot live on the water. So we have decided to move to the shore, living in a house in Cartagena de Indias in Colombia. This will be a big challenge for me.

The title of this blog is: Zeilend van Amsterdam, Carieb, Panama and???

The answer on this question is: Living in Colombia. I have decided to leave the Netherlands and start a living in Colombia. I will from now on travel Latin America and say goodbye to sailing.

This means that good old Boanerges is for sale now, with pain in my heart. With no other boat I had the fun and relationship as I had with Boanerges.

The 4 preceding chapters of this blog are an photo excerpt of the last seven years when I travelled with Boanerges. In 7 years I took some 14.000 photos during my travels. This excerpt of about 600 photos deals mainly with what happened on the water.

Chapter 44, is about the construction and history of Boanerges
Chapter 43a and b is about some of the Windward Islands of the Caribbean.
Chapter 42 shows how beautiful diving it is in the Caribbean
Chapter 41 gives an impression of crossing the Atlantic to Martinique
Chapter 40 shows photos of the journey from Amsterdam to Cascais-Lissabon.

Boanerges has now sailed around 80.000Nm. This is the distance of twice around the world. It is time someone else should take her over to do another 20 to 40.000Nm.

I don't think I will produce more chapters. I do travel now on land and visit places. My travels will be centered around photography. I am looking for an international blog which is specialized in travelling and presenting images in a better quality. I expect this will be Travelblog.com. And I live a new life, at this moment with Boanerges at anchor in the bay of Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, living a family life with Claudia and some happy cats.

If there are any questions about places, anchorages, photos or anything else, one can mail to: cat.boanerges@gmail.com

Take time to look into this blog and start dreaming. As I did, first dreaming, than doing the trip. The Caribbean is very diverse area and has many quiet places which are only to be reached by water. This can also be done with small airplanes and ferries.

Thanks for reading, Eddy Dunlop

At the end of this Dutch text one finds a simple translation in English.

The traveller:
Eddy Dunlop, 64 years old, solo, healthy, no longer working and just sufficient money to be able to travel around the world without too much to care about. At the age of 20 I have crossed the Atlantic ocean with a passenger/cargo liner of the KNSM as a militairy to Surinam. All those dolphins player with the waves in front of the ship, the sunset and the sunrise, the splendid clouds with unreal colours, I thought "that I want do myself once". And 40 years later I can do it, thus. solo, not by conviction but because this way it happens. cat.boanerges@gmail.com
